I wanted to get the blog up and running so everyone could see what I was doing the past few weeks for Mr. Lafayette Dickens and the Downtown Blackstone Incorporated members, especially with all my running around.

The gist of social media, like blogs, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and Twitter is to share information quickly and easily without all the professional filters which make broadcasting ourselves via television or radio prohibitive.

What is sacrificed in professional style and branding is more than made up in immediacy, excitement, and a personable exchange of information.

This isn’t a talking head of an ad agency producing a clip for $800; this is a member of the community: a one woman band.

Please note, I did all this on NO BUDGET with equipment I already had including a $250 Kodak Zi8 camcorder, my college laptop, and a 8mp digital camera. So with about $1000 of my own equipment, hardware and software, this is what I did for 150 hours of labor.

With $10,000 in professional grade hardware and software, more time and people, I could have given you Disney!
